Weekly Check-In and some anatomy
This week I was feeling a bit under the weather and as a result, the quality of my workouts, and my appetite suffered. I think I caught a stomach bug or something but I was still able to make it to the gym 4 times this week. Unfortunately, the weight went down to 148 this week.
Anatomy
Anatomical terminology can often be daunting, and it can be hard to learn all of the terms. I remember when I was 13 and first started working out terms like pecs and lats were completely foreign to me. But I think its important to know about your body and what muscles, tendons and joints are doing when working out. By becoming knowledgeable about different parts of the body you can then learn how they intersect and interact with each other. You can then further learn about how to better take care of each muscle, and what kind of movements can stimulate the most growth. Youtube can be a great starting point for learning about anatomy but there’s also a lot of misleading information out there. One content creator I’ve found who makes great content is Jeff Nippard who has a training science explained series. In this series, he explains the basic anatomy of each major muscle. I will link one of these videos down below. I also found this interesting interactive anatomy model that lets you look at the human body on a muscular and skeletal level. You can even click on specific muscles, and joints, and it will tell you information about it. I will imbed the link to the model as well as the YouTube video down below.
