My name is Jashan Saran, my pronouns are He/Him, and I was born and raised on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Okanagan/Syilx people. I was born September 26th 2003 so I am currently 2o. I am a student at the University of Victoria, doing a Bachelor of Education.

I enjoy playing video-games, cooking, reading, working out and going out with my friends. Growing up I played soccer and basketball on teams up until high school, and those were some of the most formative parts of my life. Currently, I don’t play on any organized teams, but I still play pickup games frequently with my friends. Midway through High-School I pivoted into musical theatre and fell in love with visual and performance arts. The lessons I learnt from that experience have hugely shaped who I am as a person now and taught me invaluable life skills. Growing up I was fairly shy and reserved and through performing on stage I think I rediscovered myself, and grew a lot as a person.

Teaching has always been something I have been interested in. I’m fortunate to have a lot of passionate teachers in my family and to share that passion. Growing up a lot of my friends weren’t the brightest and I was always tasked in helping them get their grades up and get their homework done, and I think that’s where my interest in teaching started. and I’m open to teaching all grades from K-12, I would just like to learn as much as I can about teaching every grade.
